Most "Chinese astrology readings" online stop at the first row — your year animal. It's fun, but it's a twelfth of the picture, shared by everyone born in your year. The reading that actually describes you is BaZi.
Your zodiac animal is the Earthly Branch of your Year pillar — the pillar furthest from your personal life. It describes your generation more than your character. A full Four Pillars reading reads all four pillars and weights the Day pillar most, because that's where you actually sit. Two Dragons born in the same year can have opposite charts once you read the other six characters.
A real reading starts from a correctly computed chart — exact solar calendar, true solar time, unbroken day count.
